David Wurm leads the Hamburg Chamber Orchestra as concertmaster at the Laeiszhalle Hamburg in a programme built around Bizet and Puccini.

Together with internationally acclaimed tenor Massimo Giordano, soprano Ester Kandinova, and conductor Christian Kunert, the orchestra presents a journey through the world of Italian opera and song, featuring beloved arias, orchestral highlights, and timeless melodies that celebrate the passion and lyricism of the Italian tradition.

The programme combines Mozart’s elegant classical style with Sarasate’s virtuosic operatic fantasy and Beethoven’s vivd Pastoral Symphony. Featuring highlights from Bizet’s Carmen, Sarasate’s brilliant showpiece brings together lyrical expression, dramatic contrasts, and dazzling violin virtuosity.

As concertmaster and artistic director of the orchestra since June 2022, he combines artistic leadership with the mentoring and development of young musicians — a role that gives this performance in one of Hamburg’s most iconic concert halls a special significance.

David Wurm returns to the first desk of the Hamburg Chamber Orchestra for a concert at the JazzHall Hamburg. The venue takes the ensemble out of the traditional concert hall and into a space better known for another repertoire entirely - the kind of setting in which the orchestra's mix of seasoned professionals and young players tends to come across most directly.

David Wurm is joined by flautist Nane Schulz at the Empire Riverside Hotel Hamburg for a programme of Vivaldi and Haendel. The pairing of violin and flute in this baroque repertoire lets both instruments trade the leading line, and the hotel's setting above the harbour offers an informal counterpart to the duo's concert-hall appearances.

David Wurm and pianist Levi Schechtmann bring their duo programme to the Walter Schwarzkopf Saal in Reutte, Austria. Partners since 2014, the two have built a wide-ranging recital repertoire alongside concert formats that deliberately cross genre boundaries, and this Austrian appearance continues a collaboration that reached its ten-year mark at the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg.
