Bio
David Wurm is a German violinist who has performed as soloist in major venues such as the Berliner Philharmonie, Elbphilharmonie and Laeiszhalle Hamburg. His concert engagements have taken him across Europe as well as to China.
David performs regularly with pianist Levi Schechtmann as an established duo since 2014. In addition to their classical concert programs, the two artists explore unconventional formats that combine classical works with electronic beats and exploring new concert formats.
David is concertmaster and artistic director of the Albert Schweitzer Youth Orchestra, where he combines artistic direction with the mentoring of young musicians. He is also a founding member and concertmaster of the Hamburg Chamber Orchestra.
His work has been featured by NDR Kultur, NDR 90,3 and Deutschlandfunk Kultur and he contributed to CD recordings. He also regularly serves as a jury member for Jugend musiziert in Hamburg. David Wurm performs on a violin by Giovanni Dollenz (Trieste, 1855).
