Bio

David Wurm, born in 2000 in Hamburg, has already performed solo in renowned concert halls such as the Elbphilharmonie and the CCH Hamburg.

He has received multiple awards, including a first prize at the Bundeswettbewerb "Jugend musiziert" for solo violin. In 2014, David recorded various works with the radio station NDR 90.3 and appeared on the NDR Hamburg show "Das!" in December 2017. Since February 2020, he has been supported by "Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now" Hamburg e.V. Additionally, he served as a judge at the 60th competitio Landeswettbewerb "Jugend musiziert" Hamburg in March 2023.

Since June 2022, he has taken on the roles of concertmaster and project manager at the Albert Schweitzer Youth Orchestra. In this capacity, he combines artistic direction with organizational tasks and youth promotion. He also performs as a soloist with his orchestra. As concertmaster, he has also collaborated with the Junge Norddeutsche Philharmonie, the International Mendelssohn Summer School Festival Orchestra, and the University Orchestra of the HfMT Hamburg. Chamber music also plays an important role for David. For the past ten years, he has formed the duo "Duobsession" with pianist Levi Schechtmann. In October, they will give their anniversary concert at the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg.

David completed his bachelor's degree at the HfMT Hamburg in February 2024 under Prof. Christoph Schickedanz, having already begun his studies at the Andreas Franke Academy of the HfMT Hamburg at the age of 14. He graduated from the Albert-Schweitzer-Gymnasium in 2019. Since 2014, he has participated in various master classes, learning from Tanja Becker-Bender, Eberhard Feltz, Kevork Mardirossian, David Gilham, Lihay Bendayan, Sebastian Schmidt, Rainer Schmidt, and Andreas Röhn.
