Bio

David Wurm (born 2000 in Hamburg) is a German violinist who performs internationally both as a soloist and chamber musician. His concert engagements have taken him to renowned venues including the Berlin Philharmonie, the Elbphilharmonie, and the Laeiszhalle, as well as on concert tours throughout Europe and China.

Since 2014, David Wurm has formed an established duo with pianist Levi Schechtmann, presenting a wide-ranging repertoire of concert programmes. Alongside traditional recital formats, the duo also develops innovative concert concepts that transcend genre boundaries and introduce classical music to new audiences.

Since October 2024, David Wurm is Concertmaster of the Hamburger Kammerorchester. He is also Concertmaster and Artistic Director of the Albert Schweitzer Youth Orchestra, a position he has held since June 2022, where he combines artistic leadership with the mentoring of young musicians. In addition, he has served as Concertmaster of the Junge Norddeutsche Philharmonie as well as the International Mendelssohn Summer School Festival Orchestra.

David Wurm began his musical education at the age of fourteen as a junior student at the Andreas Franke Academy of the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg. He studied there with Prof. Christoph Schickedanz until completing his Bachelor’s degree in 2024. He graduated from the Albert-Schweitzer-Gymnasium in 2019.
